Note to Self (152) Letter of Resignation

You didn’t give me enough reasons to bust my a** so YOU could make YOUR dreams come true. I’m tired of the routine, the dullness, the lack of appreciation and recognition. Taking credit for my thorough research skills and my indisputable common sense has lasted up to the point where I believed you’d finally give me the promotion I deserved. But no. You took me for granted.

So, after many nights and many days spent before my mirror wondering whether I should stay or go, I’ve made my decision. A better life awaits, full of bliss and happiness, and much success. I’d rather die poor and proud of myself, than rich and in a perpetual quest for my purpose. You didn’t teach me anything. You only convinced me I wasn’t meant to live by your rules.

Where I’m going I don’t need a stapler, and my imagination will meet no barriers. I’m free at last.

World, here I come. I hope you won’t miss me too much. I was your best friend after all. Maybe we’ll see each other on the other side of the fence. Until then, I wish you all the best.

Sincerely,

Your former self.
